Greg is President and cofounder of Infinity Financial. He holds an undergraduate degree from California State University, San Francisco, as well as a Series 24 Principals Registration, a Series 7 Equities Registration, a Series 66 Registration, a Series 3 Commodities Registration from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, a Series 53 Municipal Principal, a Series 4 Options Principal, and an insurance license from the state of California (#0C65349).
Greg’s interest in finance and investment began with his family's successful regional bank in southern California, which was eventually bought by Wells Fargo Bank. His formal financial career began at Merrill Lynch as a Senior Financial Advisor and Executive Club member in the Global Private Client Group. At the firm he was selected to train in the Professional Development Program, and he finished in the top 10% firmwide. He followed his interests in complex financial instruments and stock market tools by specializing in options pricing and risk management for a select client base of the firm. By the time Greg left Merrill Lynch to found Infinity Financial Services, he had worked for the firm for more than a decade.
Before pursuing his career in financial services, Greg spent five years in journalism and followed his interest in the media's growing role as a conduit for business information. As a producer and broadcast journalist for KCBS in San Francisco, he reported on business, economics, politics, and current affairs.
Greg is a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA ®) and a member of the Rotary Club of Oakland’s Speaker Committee.

James Simos, CFP®

James Simos is Chief Operating Officer (COO) and cofounder of Infinity Financial. He received a BA in accounting and an MBA from Westminster College and holds a Series 24 Principals Registration and a Series 7 Registration, a Series 66 Securities Registration, a Series 28 FINOP, and an insurance license from the state of California (#0D83810).
Prior to founding Infinity, James’ career included operating multimillion dollar lines of business, managing financial services teams, and advising financial services clients on complex financial strategies. He previously served as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch, overseeing financial and investment strategies for high-net-worth private clients across the US. He came to Merrill Lynch from the worldwide management consulting firm Accenture, which specializes in serving in Fortune 500 consumer products companies. In the 1990s, James worked as a Division Controller overseeing financial operations for a $10 million dollar division of Georgia Pacific—North America's largest distributor of paper, packaging systems, facilities equipment, and supplies.
James is a member of the National Board of Certified Option Advisors (NBCOA) and the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of the East Bay, a group of approximately 400 Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP ®) professionals, financial planners, specialists, and organizations dedicated to advancing the financial planning process (this chapter is part of a nationwide network of nearly 30,000 FPA members). James is also affiliated with The Guardsmen, a San Francisco service organization established in 1947 that consists of 150 business and professional members devoted to advancing at-risk Bay Area youth by funding indoor and outdoor educational programs.
